Identify a legislator (state or federal) and state why that person is the appropriate one to contact regarding the health problem you have selected.
Write a 6-7 paragraph letter to the legislator including the proper salutation. A part of this assignment is for you to search for a guideline on how best to write a letter to a legislator.
Introduce yourself and state your reason (s) for writing the letter.
State concisely what you understand to be the current socioeconomic, political, and ethical issues surrounding the problem (support your claim[s]).
Discuss the implications of the problem for the nursing profession related to education, practice and research (support your claim[s]).
Make a clear request for action.
Request a response from the legislator.
Postal mail or email the letter to the Legislator and ensure that you have proof of mailing the letter on the last page of the copy of the letter and upload the letter to the assigned dropbox by Sunday at 11:59pm.
