Task 1: Learning About a Technology Firm
Perform an online or offline search, and choose a technology firm near your location. (INDIANAPOLIS, IN) You must then call and speak to someone from the firm’s Human Resources department (preferably the HR manager) and conduct a brief (15- to 20-minute) interview with them. During the interview, you need to ask questions about the company’s core functions, the different types of jobs available in the company, a list of qualities that the company expects from its employees, and so on. In other words, your questions should cover the points that the HR department would include in the company’s Code of Conduct Manual. You should keep a record of all the answers and write a summary of what you have learned.
*******Alternatively, if you do not find a technology firm near your location, or if the HR manager is unwilling to have a sit-down interview, you could find a company online and correspond with the manager through email with the help of a questionnaire.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVOD this is very hard to attempt – whatever ways this can be done is fine.
Task 2: Writing the Code of Conduct Manual
Assume that you provide your services in a company as its HR representative. You must now create the Code of Conduct manual for the company. Keep the information you have learned during the previous task in mind, while crating the Code of Conduct. You must have different sections in the manual that refer to professionalism, ethical decision-making, accountability/initiative, collaboration, and so on. You may use online resources and follow their guidelines to create your own Code of Conduct manual.
