Instructions are to find reputable source and academic sources, with work cited. The topic I would like to pic would be odd, but if you have another idea in mind that would be great. Professor would like us to use the DSM-5. I left some articles in the files that may help with the question. The first file is the assignment question.

Research Paper Questions: 1) What Does the empirical research evidence say about the nature, causes, and most effective treatments for a specific psychiatric problem? 2) What did your textbook get right and what did it get leave out or get wrong about the problem or disorder?

This is your chance to do a “literature review” about a specific disorder or problem of the mind and behavior people struggle with. You may choose to pick a problem we cover in this class, or one we do not.

When you craft your answer to the question you need to use reputable sources. At least 7 reputable sources are required (but I suggest more). Try to make at least 5 of your reputable sources be academic sources, meaning they are from academic journals or books. These sources do not include most websites. You need to use the databases on the MC library website to access some or all of your sources. Do not include in your sources basic, non-academic websites like Wikipedia, or general health websites. These do not count.

Reputable source: A source of information that is relatively unbiased and is from a person or organization that has expertise in the issue.
Academic source: A source of information that is from academic journals or books published by reputable, academic authors –Authors that conduct research at academic institutions such as major research universities.

Keep in mind this is a paper that needs to present answers to each part of the question as clearly and persuasively as possible. Your task is to convince your reader about your claims by relying on the results of carefully done research and analysis. Use the results of scientific research, sociological analysis and observation, and sometimes investigative reporting done by relatively unbiased reporters to support your answer.

Your paper will need to be at least 7 double spaced pages in 12-point Times New Roman or Cambria font. Feel free to write more than that, but not less. Check the course schedule for the specific due date.

All sources need to be appropriately cited in APA format. This means your paper needs to have a references page at the end of the paper (this does not count toward the number of pages you are required to write) where sources are correctly cited in APA style. In addition, students need to use in-text citations in APA format in this paper. When you describe information in the paper that you learned from the research, you need to put an in-text citation in the paper in addition to giving the full citation for the author of the research.
