Three of Applied Final Project, Playing With Gender: Understanding Our Gend

For Part 3, you need to

Locate a minimum of three scholarly sources through the UMGC Library databases written within the last ten years.
The library’s tutorial about how to determine if something is an academic or scholarly source can be found here: https://sites.umgc.edu/library/libhow/articles.cfm.
Read/Review each of your chosen sources. Reading them all the way through carefully before writing your annotations is best, but if you do not have time to do this, here are some tips for efficient review of long scholarly articles:
Strategies for Reading Academic Articles
Reading Scholarly Articles
Explain the main objectives of the authors in your own words (do not reproduce or paraphrase the library abstract).
Discuss how the information relates to your act in particular and to gender issues in general. All summary information and discussion must be presented in complete sentences.
Submit your Annotated Bibliography in a 3-4 page paper (750-1200 words).
Follow American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines on writing citations and references:

There will be a guest lecturer from the Writing Center in the classroom during Week 5 to lead a workshop on Annotated Bibliographies. You can earn up to 5 points added to the score for this assignment for participating in the workshop. To earn all 5 points, participate in all parts of the workshop, meeting deadlines and providing full and complete submissions to each part. Partial credit will be given for participating on some portion of the workshop, or for providing only incomplete or underdeveloped responses to activities.

Here are some basic instructions for library research on gender issues. There are two main ways to search the UMGC library for relevant sources. You can try one or both methods:

Input key words into Library OneSearch, and narrow the results from there.
Select “peer-reviewed” and “full-text” in the left-side column (if you do not search full-text, you will not be able to read the full article).
This is the easiest method, but may return a large number of articles; give yourself plenty of time to look through them.
Go to the UMGC Library’s list of Subject Guides: http://www.umgc.edu/library/libresources/subjects.cfm#subjects
Select Sociology, Women’s Studies, or a related field.
In the Subject Guide you’ve chosen, select one of the recommended library research databases.
Search your chosen database for a relevant full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly journal article (“full-text” means you can read the entire article online).
If your chosen database returns primarily encyclopedia or news articles, choose another database
