Instead of summarizing the book, include your reaction to the book.
Do not write your reaction paper in the form of questions-answers, make it an essay-like paper.

Some questions that could help you in structuring your reaction paper:
What was the author’s goal in writing this book?
What is the author’s main point?
How did the author support his point/idea?
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the author’s point/s?
What is the author’s style of writing?
What was your reaction to the book?
If you have had some previous ideas on the subject, did your views change?
What was the most surprising, new, or interesting for you in this book? Why?
Did you think of any experiences related to the subject of the book?
Would you recommend this book to other people? Why or why not?
IMPORTANT! Central Question:
How does the book relate to our classroom and textbook material? Connect the book’s ideas to our class material, e.g., racial formation, racialization, white/native privilege, prejudice, discrimination, intersectionality, racism in social institutions – you don’t need to discuss all of these concepts, but do focus on some of them.
