Set in Hollywood, the film tells a familiar story of star-crossed lovers with dissimilar artistic desires whose romance is contradicting with their dreams. The way the dreamers, Mia (the aspiring actress) and Seb (the passionate jazz pianist) meet while battling their own issues with their career aspirations, makes the love story all the more romantic. When Mia and Seb see each other after losing touch, the lingering and unresolved romance between the two dreamers is bittersweet. The fantasy montage of what could’ve been was painfully beautiful. This movie was perfect. From the dialogue that flowed like poetry to the masterful use of color in the cinematography and the masterpiece of a soundtrack. La La Land was such an unforgettable cinematic experience — the kind of film you wish you could unsee just to feel all the emotions of watching it for the first time again.
