For the second article analysis assignment you will select one chapter and review one portion of that selected chapter from the assigned readings of this week and develop an analysis discussing the following:
Prompt: How does the author use primary source material to argue that slavery was the root cause of the Civil War?
To develop your analysis, discuss multiple letters compiled by author McPherson (minimum three) to explain your response. You will need to include the following:
1. Confederate and Union perspectives
2. An analysis of the author’s interpretation of the sources.
3. Your own interpretation of the author’s conclusion (is his research compelling and does it prove his argument that slavery was the root cause of the war?)
Length: Two to three pages double spaced with in text citations. A work cited page is not necessary.
Format: MLA/APA
Due Date: Monday, November 9th by midnight.
