Read “Gender and Sexuality” (pp.250-271) and “Hermaphrodite, watch “The Dangerous Ways Ads See Women” and We Should Be All Feminists,” take notes and post your response to the following questions and reply to one of your classmate’s post: 1) What were/are the gender roles in the household in which you were raised (your family or household of orientation)? If you now live somewhere other than that household, how do the gender roles of your new household compare or contrast? Adichie thinks American women do not want to seem aggressive, that they are more invested in being “liked.” Do you think it is more difficult to be “liked” if you insist on gender equality? Why was not Elizabeth Warren elected as a candidate? Remember that you must author one well-considered initial (200 words) post and one detailed response to a classmate’s post.
