Directions:
1) Select a dancer from the 18th century to research
2) Must use at least 3 good resources for your research – do not plagiarize – you must put everything, unless your quoting something specific or paraphrasing which you would then make a citation for, into your own words . If you plagiarize then you will get a zero on this assignment. Do not use Wikipedia as a resource – I will not count this as one of your 3 resources since it is not a good resource.
Make sure when you submit your report that you agree to use Safe Assign to check for plagiarism. For your information, Safe Assign is very particular so all of your papers will show some degree of plagiarism, however I will look through your paper and insure the percentage of plagiarism is only coming from things like titles, quotes, etc. Do not become alarmed that you might see a degree of plagiarism from these types of things.
3) The written report should be 3 pages long (not including reference page and pictures), double-spaced. FOR EVERY PAGE UNDER 3 PAGES 10 POINTS PER PAGE WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM OVERALL SCORE. MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
– Dancer’s birth and death dates
– Place of birth and death (country or city if known)
– How did they become interested/involved in dance
– Who were their teacher(s)
– Where they lived and worked (Dancers often traveled or lived in several countries during their careers, so the answer often includes more than one place.
– Contributions to dance: such as performance as a dancer or work as a choreographer, teacher, director or author
– Significant dance works or literature they were involved with or in –
– Make sure to include at least two pictures of them – hopefully more. These pictures can include a head shot, pictures of them in costume/dancing, things they were known for like pictures of books they wrote, costume adaptations they became known for, etc.
– At least one other additional contribution they are known for, interesting or other personal facts about them, etc. Make sure to indicate within the report that this is your additional “fun” fact.
– Make sure to include a reference page of the resources you used ( 10 points will be deducted if you do not include a reference page with the resources you used listed) (again, wikipedia does not count as a valid resource)
YOU MUST SUBMIT THE REPORT USING A WORD DOCUMENT!!!!! Also, attach your file where it says “Browse My Computer.”
AGAIN AlSO, MAKE SURE TO CHECK OFF THE AGREEMENT WHERE IT SAYS PLAGIARISM TOOLS. THIS IS GIVING THE ABIITY TO USE SAFE ASSIGN TO CHECK REPORT FOR PLAGIARISM.
